I am a somatic Sex educator, Nervous System Expert, pelvic Floor specialist, and yoga instructor
In short, I’m a bodyworker. I help women learn to inhabit their physical form through developing a strong “sensory” relationship with their body (ie. how to feel your emotions, work with stuck tension, overcome compulsive behavior and move through life with more agency, self-understanding and in deeper connection to your truth).
Working “somatically” means that we’re working with your mind/body connection, looking at physical symptoms as though they are not random, but rather, guide posts helping us unpack the “unseen” layers of belief that we hold — about ourselves, life, the traumas we still carry, and the conditioned programming that may be running the show (unconsciously).
As a practitioner and educator, I am looking at the intersection between where our emotions, biochemistry, and biomechanics are influenced by the state of our nervous system. I commonly work with labour/birth/delivery trauma, sexual embodiment, creative self-expression, sexual trauma, intimacy issues, fertility, body dysmorphia, eating disorders, burnout, chronic fatigue, female gynecological issues (painful periods, uterine cysts/fibroids, prolapse etc).
Common patterns I work with:
- Anxiety & emotional overwhelm
- Burnout, brain fog, chronic fatigue
- Body image & self-esteem
- Depression, feeling of apathy, lack of creativity or access to personal power
- Chronic pelvic pain and frozen tension (tailbone, hip, lower back, head, neck and shoulders)
- Feeling a sense of being disconnected from your pelvis/womb space - experienced as lower body numbness, loss of sensitivity
- Fertility
- Low libido, issues with sexual intimacy
- Anorgasmia
- Pain during Intercourse
- Pain during menses (PCOS, endometriosis)
- Relationship to food & exercise
